Blood and Lymphatic Circulation

According to Medical News Today, massage can help improve circulation in the body. One particular type of massage that has been proven to aid in circulation is effleurage, which is a light friction technique that involves long, storing movements done with the fingers or a flat hand.

Gentle massage of any body part, including the breasts, may cause temporary local vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and a mild increase in circulation. There is no scientific evidence that casual touching or non-medical breast stimulation provides meaningful or sustained circulatory benefits. Exercise, rather than touching or massaging, is a well-established method for improving systemic blood circulation.

Cleveland Clinic notes that massage, particularly lymphatic drainage massage, can positively impact lymphatic circulation by stimulating the flow of lymphatic fluid, which is crucial for waste removal and immune function. This can lead to reduced swelling, improved detoxification, and enhanced immune response.

Experts Speak

A massage therapist, Vera Akpenvwe, confirms that massage and regular exercise remain the best ways in aiding blood circulation.  “Nothing happens by just touching. If you touch a lady’s breast as a man, you might only get aroused but I can tell you with all certainty that nothing happens with regards to blood flow since there is no pressure exerted,” Akpenvwe added.

Also, a medical doctor with the General Hospital in Etinan, Akwa Ibom state, Ikpe Essang said “I have never heard of such. Is breast magic? All we advise women to do is have a proper check on themselves and their breast, massaging the breast to notice if there are/are lumps, which should prompt them to come for medical check-up.” Essang noted that “massage is usually encouraged, because there are physiotherapists and massage specialists because it helps in blood flow and circulation.” On a final note he said, “don’t allow anyone to lie to you, you can’t just touch a woman’s breast and blood starts circulating in you or her, NEVER”.

CONCLUSION

The claim that touching female breasts improves blood and lymphatic circulation is MISLEADING and lacks credible scientific support. Studies reveal that massage and regular exercise aids blood flow and circulation around the breast area.
