Correction policy

At News Verifier Africa, accuracy is at the heart of what we do. While we take every measure to ensure that our reports are factual, fair, and thoroughly vetted before publication, we recognise that new evidence may occasionally surface, or an error may slip through.

When that happens, we respond swiftly and transparently.

If a factual error is identified — either by our team or brought to our attention by readers, sources, or stakeholders — we will correct it promptly. The correction will clearly state what has been changed, the nature of the error, and when the correction was made. Where necessary, an editor’s note will be appended to the original article to preserve transparency and maintain trust.

In cases where an article requires only clarification (not correction), we will update the content accordingly, ensuring that our readers have access to the most complete and accurate version of the story. All changes will be time-stamped.

We welcome feedback from our audience and partners. If you believe that any of our content does not reflect the principles of fairness, balance, or evidence-based reporting, please contact us directly via our Social handles or our Email.

As a platform committed to editorial independence and public accountability, we work hard to maintain internationally recognised codes of ethics in fact-checking. If you find our content in violation of any serious breach, we encourage you to first reach out to us- The News Verifier Africa team deeply values direct engagement and takes all credible complaints seriously. You can reach us via Email or WhatsApp.

Every story we publish passes through multiple layers of editorial review, including research verification, source scrutiny, and final standards checks. Corrections are not an afterthought — they are part of our duty to truth and to you, our reader.

If it matters to the public, it matters that we get it right.
