The Editor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and conciseness of all content published by the fact check organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of journalistic ethics, fact-checking principles, and research methods.
– Review and edit articles for accuracy, clarity, and conciseness
– Verify facts and data using a variety of sources
– Write clear and concise headlines and summaries
– Work with reporters and writers to develop and refine story ideas
– Collaborate with other editors to ensure consistency across all published content
– Stay up-to-date on current events and fact-checking trends
– Train and mentor junior editors
– Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or a related field
– 3+ years of experience in editing or fact-checking
– Strong understanding of journalistic ethics and fact-checking principles
– Excellent research and analytical skills
– Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure
