VERIFICATION

NV-A took a screenshot from different angles of the video and put it through Google reverse image search, results showed that the video originated from Ghana during a by-election that was held in Ablekuma North, Ghana which happened on July 11, 2025.

According to Joy News at Ablekuma North, re-run election chaos erupted at Odorko Methodist polling unit as masked men gained entrance to the premises to disrupt the election process.

Several violent incidents marred the rerun, including assaults on an NPP candidate and former minister Mavis Hawa Koomson at one polling station. The Accra Regional Police Command confirmed assault on a journalist by an officer during the rerun and has taken action, interdicting the officer and pressing charges.

NV-A further conducted keyword verification on the alleged Edo incident, but no reputable media outlets reported on the incident about a police officer killing a bus driver in Edo state.

CONCLUSION

The claim that a police officer allegedly shot a bus driver over 200 naira bribe  is MISLEADING. The video purportedly showing the incident was traced to Ghana during the re-run elections in Ablekuma North in July 2025. Also, there are no reports from major news organisations or police statements about the alleged incident in Edo state.
