Did The Federal Government Approve the Construction of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic in Abuja, Nigeria?
On January 22, 2025, a TikTok user, @celebritylove_12345 posted a commentary video saying that the federal government of Nigeria has approved the construction of a polytechnic in Gwarimpa, Abuja which will be named after the current president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The one minute five seconds video has reached over 5000 people, at the time of publishing this report.
VERIFICATION
NV-A subjected this claim to a Google search and search results came up affirming this fact.
The Cable reported that the federal government has approved the establishment of a federal polytechnic in Abuja to be named after President Bola Tinubu.
According to the news report, the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, confirmed this in a letter addressed to Nyesom Wike, the minister of the federal capital territory. In the letter dated January 9, Alausa confirmed that establishing this institution is a part of the ministry’s plan to ensure that every state has a federal polytechnic.
The letter also requested that the FCT minister suggest suitable locations in Gwarimpa for the polytechnic’s temporary and permanent sites.
