On Sunday, May 14th 2023, a twitter user @alhajiwedjong, tweeted a picture of the venue where Chef Hilda Baci is holding a 4-day marathon cooking to break the Guiness book of records.
The tweets read thus “Ghanaian Chef, Hilda Baci has done 70 hours of cooking. She will surely break this record. A big win for Ghana”.
The tweet has generated over 1.2million views, over 2,500 retweets, about 590 quotes, over 13,300 likes and about 900 comments as of the time of publishing this report.
VERIFICATION
N-VA extracted the claim, ‘Twitter User Claims Chef Hilda Baci is Ghanaian.’ The researcher went on to verify this claim.
According to multiple reports profiling Chef Hilda Baci, whose original name is Hilda Bassey Effiong, she is a 27-year-old Nigerian chef from Nsit Ubium Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and owns a food brand in Lagos state called Myfoodbyhilda”.
As of the time of publishing this report, Baci has smashed the longest cooking record having cooked for 100 hours. However, Guinness World Records has said it is reviewing the evidence before saying if she has broken the previous record set by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon in 2019. The previous titleholder cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs.
Baci started her four-day cooking marathon challenge on May 11 at the Amore Gardens in Lagos, Nigeria.
